“Williamston’s Choice” WSNC
Eastern Region Art Show
February 1-29, 2012
Reception at 7:00pm on February 2. |
|
|
A non-juried exhibition
will be held at the newly renovated Martin County Arts Council
Center at 124 Washington Street in Williamston. The show will run
for the month of February. (As you enter Williamston from 17 North
(Washington Street), take the right- hand fork in the road. It is
the first building on the right with a small blue awning at the
front door.)
“Williamston’s Choice” has been chosen in an
effort to have a show for all Eastern Region WSNC members. The
public will be the jury. A ballot box will be set up in the space.
One ballot per visitor will be issued by volunteers who will be in
the center Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The
first prize will be $75, second $50, and third $25.
After we find out how many
artists want to participate, we will notify participants of how many
works each artist may submit to fill the arts center. Each piece
must be water media only, wired and framed under glass or
plexi-glass. There is no size restriction or date of completion
limitation.
We encourage all current members of WSNC who
reside east of Interstate 95 to participate. A $10 handling fee will
be required for each piece entered. Each entry should have the price
and artist’s name for sales purposes. If you do not wish to sell
your piece, then please label it NFS. If your work is sold, there
will be a 30% commission for the arts center.
All
pieces should be delivered to Carol Mann’s art studio (#7) at the
Inner Banks Artisans’ Center, 158 W. Main Street in Washington no
later than January 23 along with the attached signed form. The Inner
Banks Artisan Center is open Mon-Sat 10 to 5. Since we have the
framing seminar on January 21 at Arts and Materials in New Bern,
artists may also bring them to Carol or Holly then. All work should
be packaged and protected for transport.
Works may be picked up at
the same studio on Thursday, March 1, or Friday, March 2.
If you would like to
participate please email Holly Cook
bodholly@suddenlink.net
or Carol Mann
chezchigoe@yahoo.com by January 6 so that we will know how many
entries to expect |
